These products used to be sold in large quantities to locals and tourists visiting from all over the Middle East. But in recent years, the Middle East has been plagued by wars, famines and many tragedies. Since then, these artisans, mostly in rural areas, have lost their main source of income from selling these products.
Orientis was created to support these artisans, preserve the art of Middle Eastern mosaics and to introduce this type of art to the rest of the world.
